Don Juan meets The Sopranos ! The world's most famous lothario - and mobster - cruises from the pizza parlors of Trenton to the Jersey shore, leaving behind jilted women and enraged rivals. When Don Juan's misdeeds catch up with him, Heaven and Hell will collide!

 

Kareem Fahmy
Director

Hailing from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Kareem Fahmy is a graduate of McGill University and of Columbia University, where he received a Master's degree in theatre directing under the tutelage of Anne Bogart. Kareem has directed nearly twenty productions in the U.S. and Canada . Montreal directing credits include the Canadian premieres of Suzan-Lori Parks' Venus and Naomi Iizuka's Language of Angels , Patrick Marber's Closer , and Constance Congdon's Tales of the Lost Formicans . In New York: The world premiere of David Freeman's A First Class Man (45 th Street Theatre), the New York premiere of James Rasheed's Professional Skepticism (Abingdon Theatre), Michael Ondaatje's The Collected Works of Billy the Kid (The Theatre of the Riverside Church), Judith Thompson's Lion in the Streets (Abingdon Theater), Sam Shepard's Curse of the Starving Class and Bertolt Brecht's Drums in the Night (Schapiro Theater), The Way To Begin (Horace Mann Theater), and Anton Chekhov's On the Harmful Effects of Tobacco (Schapiro Studio). Kareem is the founder and Artistic Director of The Alternate Theatre.

Jeffery Eisenmann
Sets

Jeffery Eisenmann studied at CSU Long Beach. He designs for The Alternate Theater Company include Curse of the Starving Class and The Collected Works of Billy the Kid . Other New York credits include Diary of a Chambermaid (Dramahaus New York ), Absolute Flight (Fringe Festival), Leap (Abingdon Theater). He has also assisted Danila Korogodsky with Die Voegel ( Spoleto Festival USA) and The Ring Saga (Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh). His work has exhibited in London , St. Petersburg , the Prague Quadrennial (2003), and at the Clambake New York. He currently works at Rutgers as carpenter and guest designer, and is the technical advisor for Teatr Pokoleny in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Anne K. Wood
Costumes

After receiving her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University , Anne has been fortunate to work with very gifted individuals in her field. A few favorite projects include costuming Shakespeare's Measure for Measure directed by Martha Henry, Lion in the Streets directed by Kareem Fahmy, Largo Desolato produced by Beyond the Wall Productions, Zootopia Theatre's Professional Skepticism and costuming several dancers at Battery Dance Company. Anne would like to thank her family and friends for their support.

Andrew Papadeas
Sound & Music

Andrew holds two degrees in music composition and writes for a variety of genres including theatre, film, electronica, hip hop, and instrumental music. Past theatre credits include Drums in the Night by Bertolt Brecht, Lion in the Streets by Judith Thompson, Curse of the Starving Class by Sam Shepard, In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel by Tennessee Williams, The Collected Works of Billy the Kid by Michael Ondaatje, A First Class Man by David Freeman. www.trughost.com

Nicole Holst
Choreography

Nicole Holst, originally from Lodi, California, is now an active dancer/choreographer/singer in New York . She graduated from CSU, Long Beach in 2005 with a B.A. in Dance. She has performed in works by dance legends, Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, and Anna Sokolow. Her work has been seen at DNA, Fielday/Frying Pan Barge and Merce Cunningham Studios. This is Nicole's second time working with Mr. Fahmy, and she would like to thank him for including her.

 

   

Julio Vincent Gambuto

Theatre (NY): I Google Myself, I, Claudius Live!, American Triptych, The Tempest, Bald Diva! Standup Comedy (LA): The Comedy Store, The Improv.  Julio is a board member of Theatre Askew and is a member of the First Look Theatre Company. Volcania, his autobiographic one-man show, was produced at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival (2005) and will be presented in NY this coming spring.  Julio holds a BA in English from Harvard University . 
   

Catherine Gowl

As a Bat at the Flea: Milton in The Director, and Mrs. Dolan in Len Jenkins' Christmas Song. Other recent roles include Mrs. Frank in Days and Nights: Page 121, Lines 11 and 12; Margaret in Social Work; multiple roles in Week 23 of 365 Days/365 Plays with blessed unrest; Masha, Sonya, Olga and Varya in C4: The Chekhov Project; and Miss Girl in The Delicate Business of Boy and Miss Girl. BA: Harvard.

   

Heather Hollingsworth

(Elvira)

Heather Hollingsworth, a native of New Orleans , holds an Acting MFA from Columbia University: Macbeth (Lady Macbeth) and Hamlet (Ophelia). Since graduating, she has performed in various readings and workshops for the Public Theatre, LAByrinth Theatre Company, Classic Stage Company, The Women's Project, 20 th Century Fox and was in Please Stop Talking at the Cherry Lane Theatre. In New Orleans, she was a member of both The Shakespeare Festival at Tulane and Dog and Pony Theatre: Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Julius Caesar (Portia), and The Glass Menagerie (Laura Wingfield).

   

Dana Jacks
(Mathurine, Female Tattoo Artist)

Dana is a native Californian who now lives in Brooklyn.  She earned her MFA in Acting from Rutgers University: Mason Gross School of the Arts. Favorite roles include L'il Bit in How I Learned to Drive, Anna in The Baltimore Waltz, and Helena in  A Midsummer Night's Dream. She is excited to work with such a talented group of artists and would like to thank Kareem for having her be a part of Don Juan Does New Jersey.

   

Arthur Lazalde

(Perry, Carlos, Mr. Dimanche)

Arthur is pleased to be a part of Don Juan Does New Jersey , his first play with The Alternate Theatre Co..  This past May, Arthur, graduated with his MFA from New York University's Graduate Acting Program. Since then, he completed his second season at the Texas Shakespeare Festival where he performed the roles of Cassio in Othello , Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing , and the Governor in Man of La Mancha . Other memorable roles include: Andrew Undershaft in Major Barbara (NYU grad acting ), Aufidius in Coriolanus (Texas Shakes), and Richard Henry Lee in 1776 (Utah Shakespeare Festival). Arthur would like to thank Kareem Fahmy for getting him involved with this wonderful project.

   

Christina Pumariega

(Carlotta)

Christina's theater credits include producing and starring in the NY premiere of Rogelio Martinez's Illuminating Veronica (dir. Michael Sexton), and the NYC Fringe Festival production of The End by Andy Gershenzon (dir. by Christopher Denham). Regional theatre includes Real Beatlemaniacs and The Things That Go Bump at Actors Theatre of Louisville and Macbeth at the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival. Christina recently graduated from NYU's Graduate Acting Program, where productions included Working the Musical, Dancing at Lughnasa and Migration, an original production conceived/performed with Clayton Apgar and Timothy Sekk. She is a recipient of the Marcia Gay Harden Scholarship and the HSF/McNamara Creative Arts Grant.

   

Zak Risinger

Zak Risinger was last seen in New York as Slender in Merry Wives of Windsor at Theatre Row. A Graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Musical Theatre, he has appeared regionally at theatres in Oklahoma, Texas, North and South Carolina, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and California. Favorite productions: Fiddler on the Roof, Metamorphoses, Man of La Mancha , HONK!, The Foreigner,   Anything Goes, Parade, and Drive-In America - performed at The Kennedy Center.

   

Doug Roland

(Don Juan)

Doug is a native New Yorker who was most recently featured in the NY Fringe and Fringe Encore play Mary Brigit Poppleton is Writing a Memoir. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison and Michael Howard Studios' one year conservatory. Thanks to Kareem for the opportunity to finally, at last, play a New Jersey mafioso. Hey to Mom, Pop, Nicky, and Moe.
